Distinguishing the Eternal Spirit from the Evolving Soul
While commonly used interchangeably, making a clear distinction between “spirit” and “soul” provides meaningful insights for spiritual growth and healing work.
Through my studies and experience, I’ve come to understand spirit and soul as separate yet interconnected aspects of our being. Let me explain the key differences:
The Eternal Spirit
Our spirit is our true, unchanging essence. It is eternally connected to the universal source of all that is. Our individual spirit links us to the divine and transcends birth and death.
The Evolving Soul
In contrast, our soul embodies all experiences through life’s journey. It carries our memories, emotions and lessons learned. The soul can be wounded but also strengthened. It evolves across lifetimes, expanding its capacity for love through each challenge faced.
How They Interact
Importantly, our Eternal Spirit and Evolving Soul informs each earthly incarnation through their energetic imprints, along with the energetic and genetic imprints of our parents.
Seeing these subtle distinctions offers insight for healing soul wounds. Both from this life and those carried through from previous lives. By nourishing our connection to spirit we heal from a place of eternal wholeness.
As we work with different energies and frequencies in energy healing we always start by opening the space to connect with our individual spirit as well as the universal. This is to bring in the highest consciousness and align with unconditional love to support healing at the level of our soul. Creating the shifts within our subtle and physical bodies that we desire.
