“You have toxic energy”

Has anyone ever said this to you? If so run!

Recently a biz mentor of mine was approached in a DM this way, after querying the sender she was informed that “I just want to help”, “I connected with your energy and spoke to your guides.”

If you haven’t figured out what’s wrong with this situation, here are 3 basic rules:

1) No one should enter your field without your permission

2) No one should enter your field without your permission

3) NO ONE SHOULD ENTER YOUR FIELD WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSON!

Consent is vitally important in energy work, unfortunately there are energy workers out there that are violating boundaries and doing this in terms of “helping”.

This is an unregulated industry, but anyone worth their salt will be following ethical guidelines, and the best teachers always teach their students ethical guidelines.

If someone does say this to you, please don’t engage other than to get out of the situation. If it leaves you feeling concerned about your energy, go see someone who doesn’t violate boundaries. Honestly though, in these circumstances, and in particular, in the case of my mentor I call “bullshit”.

What happens when someone can’t give consent?

On the odd occasion I have been asked to work to someone that can’t give consent because they’re unconscious, in a coma, don’t have verbal skills due to stroke, or lack of development.

In these cases, I set myself in my usual manner, and before doing anything I will connect directly to their spirit and ask for permission that way. I had a deeply profound experience when I got a resounding “no”.

Although, I got a “no” I still felt inspired to do something.

This was an ex-monk and 40+ year practitioner in the Hare Krishna tradition. Knowing this, I thought I could send prayers (prayer is not a violation of boundaries, as genuine prayer sent with love is handed over to the God, Source, Spirit, The Highest Wisdom to decide what to do with).

I put on The Radha Krishna Temple Album produced by George Harrison and handed over my prayers through dance and mantra. At some point I had a vision; I saw them in their hospital bed and standing over them was Krishna who turned his head and looked right at me.

I was able to share this with his loved ones and they were bought comfort from him being in the hands of his God as he passed away a few days later. It was clear, it was not my place to interfere with his dying process.

When working with an energy healer consent should always come first.
